TROEF Energy started with a pilor where a wind turbine is directly connected to an energy community in Bunnik. TROEF proves with this concept that the community is using the energy generated at the turbine. In combination with the solar panels at the community it is provable that the community is fully energy self-sufficient.
Our partner AM is selected by the city of Amsterdam for the development of Vreeswijkpad. The promised concept is climate adaptive and nature inclusive. It has special attention to local energy distribution that will be facilitated by TROEF Buurtenergie. With TROEF Buurtenergie the future residents can exchange their self generated energy within the building and neighbourhood.
TROEF wants to make the energy community of the future available for everyone. 'TROEF Buurtenergie' is launched to offer the TROEF ecosystem to residential areas.>

Christina Papachristou wrote an interesting article showing that office buildings could offer more than 14GWh grid-flexibility to the Dutch energy grid. TROEF will make it possible to offer this flexibility to the grid.
