TROEF Buurtenergie is an initiative of BAM. For this BAM is working together with i.LECO, a software developer that focuses specifically on facilitating local energy communities.

Local energy communities can be of great significance for accelerating the energy transition. The development of local energy communities is still in a beginning phase. To make local energy communities really part of our energy system, the current energy system needs to change in all kinds of areas. To make this happen, all kinds of different parties are needed – from network operators to software developers, from builders to suppliers. Mutual cooperation from all different parties is of great importance for this.

BAM partnering up for this collaboration within the Dutch consortium TROEF. i.LECO works together with parties within the European consortium LIGHTNESS. Both consortia are working on the energy system of the future, in which local sustainable energy production and local energy communities are central.

BAM and i.LECO have made agreements about the research being done within TROEF Buurtenergie. These agreements are important, for example, to record that we process your energy data anonymously in line with privacy legislation. By joining forces and learning at both national and European level, we are moving closer to the energy system of the future.
